Command: Save Current Values to Recipe

Function: The command creates a new recipe definition in the Recipe Manager and stores the current values of the persistent variables in it. You should execute the command before the Reorder List and Clear Gaps command in order to avoid a possible loss of data. You can use the Restore Values from Recipe command afterwards to restore the data.

Call: Declarations menu

Requirement: The application is in online mode and the persistence editor (persistent variable list) is active.

Important

When inserting structured data, it can happen that the recipe definition contains a very large number of variables. When the number exceeds 50,000 variables, the performance can become significantly worse when working with this recipe definition.

The following actions are affected:

  • Opening the editor of a recipe definition

  • Making changes in the editor of a recipe definition

  • Closing the editor of a recipe definition

  • Execution of recipe commands such as Read Recipe and Write Recipe

Tip

If a list already exists in the Recipe Manager with the corresponding name when saving a persistent variable list, then the current persistent variables are sorted into this list:

  • New persistent variables are added to the list.

  • Variables which are not located in the list of persistent variables are deleted.

Therefore, it is possible to add more recipes to the list in the Recipe Manager and these will be retained. However, if new variables are added to the list, then these are deleted the next time the Save Current Values to Recipe command is executed.
